Indonesia details reasons for withholding H5N1 viruses Robert Roos http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/images/purple-speck.gif News Editor Jul 15, 2008 (CIDRAP News) – In a recent medical journal article, Indonesian officials detailed the rationale for their refusal to share H5N1 influenza virus samples with the World Health Organization (WHO), asserting that it was in part a response to violations of the WHO's own guidelines by scientists and laboratories. A key part of the Indonesian argument is that the WHO issued a statement in March 2005 that its reference labs should not distribute biological specimens to other organizations without permission from the country that s...... - 2009-07-04

It also says that Win 95,95 and ME are not compatible...any help would be appreciated. The server requirements have been upped for FP2002. You need to host them on a server running Windows 2000. I believe there is the Personal Web Hosting feature, but I'm not sure if it was phased out in FrontPage 98/2000. I did try to install the FrontPage Server Extensions on my XP comp, and I was unable to. For example, this site runs on Windows 2000 with the Internet Information Server (IIS) software. I am making a flash projector file of a product brochure for a client to be placed on a cd rom. Is there a way that when the user clicks on the icon to start the movie, the users entire screen goes black so nothing shows on their screen except the movie? Thanks for such quick responses to my recent posts. You've been a great source of info and assistance. GarrapitoHello Garrapito, The only way you can make the screen black, would be to add a small set of frames that make the background of the movie black. Of course, for that to work, you'll have to make the movie full screen. Here's is how you do it in Flash 4. 1.When you view the Actions for either a frame or object, you will see a list of options that display when you click on the "+...... - 2009-07-04

Just upgraded to Gold from RC2. Went to edit usergroup permissions, clicked update, said it had been updated. However when it re-directed me back to the usergroups page, instead of updating that usergroup, it created a duplicate usergroup with the exact same name and permissions. Any idea what might cause this and how to fix this?I don't have this problem on my 3.7 test forum. It sounds like you might have incorrectly gone to: Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Add New Usergroup ...and used the Create Usergroup Based off of Usergroup menu to fill in all of the fields with the values from an existing group, but you were actually creating a new group. The correct place to edit a group is in your: Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup ...... - 2009-07-04
» Is Business Ready for a Flu Pandemic? NY TIMES
Is Business Ready for a Flu Pandemic? By ELISABETH ROSENTHAL and KEITH BRADSHER Published: March 16, 2006 ROME — Governments worldwide have spent billions planning for a potential influenza pandemic: buying medicines, running disaster drills, developing strategies for tighter border controls. But one piece of the plan may be missing: the ability of corporations to continue to provide vital services. Airlines, for instance, would have to fly health experts around the world and overnight couriers would have to rush medical supplies to the front lines. Banks would need to ensure that computer systems continued to move money internationally and that local customers could get cash. News outlets would have to keep broadcasting so people...... - 2009-07-04
» Need help setting up photography area at convention
Hello! I need some advice for setting up a photography/portrait area at a comic book/anime convention. The purpose of the photography area is taking pictures of people in costume. The pictures would be anything from portrait to full-body shot. I was hoping to get some suggestions of equipment needed to set up this area. I'd like to do it as inexpensively as possible as convention attendees won't be paying extra for using this area, but still have some nice-looking shots. Besides a backdrop (and something to hold it up!), camera, and tripod, what else will I need? What kind of lights, screens, etc. will I need? Also, this photoshoot area will be inside the building, but not in a very well-lit location. Any advice you can give me is...... - 2009-07-04
» Structuring good job descriptions?
Hi, I'm trying to structure job descriptions at a new start-up and I was interested in creating a format for job descriptions which would not be editorial. This is because I'm interested in using them for mapping processes and workflows so it would be relatively easy to identify who's job is what, where their boundaries are in terms of responsibilities and authorities and do those two align well to complement each other or not. This is more to do with content structuring that encourages thinking and analysis of what a person is supposed to do in the organization. The document can also be descriptive with text explaining the contents under each section and what is supposed to be the filled into those fields and sections. ...... - 2009-07-04

» Did the American aviation industry have power tools to make and work on airplanes in the 1940s?
Yes, they did. Air powered rivet guns. Mostly electric drill motors.Hello Tracey, The answer to your question is Yes.... Except the qualifier is this most of the tools used as power tools were pneumatic in nature which means that they were compressed air. There were pneumatic shears, hammers, riveters, presses, wrenches, drills, and breaks which would all have been needed for Manufacturing Aircraft with Aluminum skins. Add English Wheels to the list and you pretty much have an aircraft Factory capable of turning out the Infamous B-29. I'm not sure about the 1940s but I'm positive the Wright brothers used them in 1903. The power tools they used are on display in a museum. » SOLVE BY SUBSTITUTION METHOD 2x+5y=-9 and-4x+y=29. What is the method of the system?
Equation 1: 2x + 5y = -9 Equation 2: -4x + y = 29 Because Equation 2 is almost set up for you, start with this one by setting it equal to y. -4x + y = 29 (add 4x to both sides) y = 4x + 29 Now, you substitute this into the Equation1 as the y value 2x + 5y = -9 2x + 5 (4x + 29) = -9 Distribute 2x + 20x + 145 = -9 (combine like terms) 22x + 145 = -9 (subtract 145 from both sides) 22x = -154 (divide both sides by 22 to isolate the x) x = -7 Now you substitute this into Equation 2 for the x value, so you can get the y value y = 4x + 29 y = 4 (-7) + 29 y = -28 + 29 y = 1 I hope this helpsWell what you do is solve for one variable, such as x in -4x+y=29 and get that x=-7.25+y/4. I don't see the point in completing a project and oral presentation for one of the classes because I'll be leaving it soon (and won't get credit for what I've done because I've only done one term) so I want to drop it a couple days prior to the term end (which is the day after the presentation) to avoid the stress. I think if I was only a part-time student, I wouldn't be considered for honor roll. Am I right? My previous schools didn't do the honor roll thing so I'm not sure how it works. If anyone knows something about this, please help! Thank you!are you sure your getting straight a'...... - 2009-07-04

The Question is, what did Ayers see in Obama to give him that much responsibility to further his agenda to radicalize our schools and Govt. !!!!! If people DON'T believe that these people represent Obama's philosophy, then I have some ocean front property I'd like to sell them !!!!!More evidence of Obama's lack of judgment as to whom he associates with and donates money to. http://newsone.blackplanet.com/elections... Was the Governor of Fl right went it called this a Rep attack on ACORN just a way to suppress the voters?Because he was pandering for votes, but since he is cognitively impaired he probably doesn't remember attending, so now he feels free to attack ACORN. His dishonesty and ambition know no bound.Because he was asked to be a keynote speaker, and was honored to do so. I hate the term "flip flop," but I really think it applies here. » Next generation DSLRs from Pentax or Sony?
Hi all, haven't been on here in quite a while. It's good to be back, and I'll get back into my old routine straight away by asking a stupid question that's probably been asked a million times already... :) I'm thinking of expanding my lens collection at the moment, however I currently have two main systems in 35mm cameras/lenses - Pentax (K-mount plus a couple of M42) and Minolta AF. Ideally I would go for the best glass for the best value for either system, since I intend to continue using both for 35mm. However I'm finally realising that not only can I not hold back the tide of digital progress, but that it may not be such a bad thing after all. I can definitely see the appeal of DSLRs, and know that I will need one if I hope to get a j...... - 2009-07-04
» Can Weight effect your chances of becomming pregnant?
I my husband and i are trying to conceive with no luck, we had an ectopic pregnancy last march. I have since quit drinking caffeine. I don't smoke or drink. But i am over weight....could this be why im not getting pregnant?I'm not sure how much weight directly affects fertility. I can say that it affects overall health which can certainly affect fertility. If you do become pregnant, if you are obese...your pregnancy will be risky as well. You'll need to watch for Gestational diabetes etc. I would get to your healthy weight with lifestyle changes now, before you try again. Once you become pregnant (fingers crossed) you will already have the healthy habits that can help keep the weight off. You will almost certainly gain som...... - 2009-07-04
» Video Camera - (a Starter camera)
Any recommendations? Honestly, I'd like to get into some advertising, but am not ready to blow $3000 on a video camera. So, I'd like to find a great video camera for $300 or less. Define Great: Great: decent quality video rather than nifty features. I don't care about capturing 1 megapixel still images. Just want a solid camera that focuses decent, and doesn't cost me a fortune. My plan... to make TV commercials for companies in the area. Now, the area I speak of has the crappiest TV commercials ever, and I know a bunch of business owners here...and I have experience taking video and editing with Final Cut Pro 4...and I have a relatively creative mind...so I may have a good start...just maybe :) 1 year from now... if all goes ...... - 2009-07-04
» Is it correct that the desire to have sex reduces with advancing age ?
Generally we see couple sleeping separately after 45 to 50 years. Does the desire come down with age ? It might diminish as a result of other factors. Poor health habits which take their toll as we age by means of prolonged abuse to the body and can result in Erectile Dysfunction or a reduced libido. Or if a person is not as fit as in their youth, then stamina runs out and they'd rather just sleep. As we age and take on responsibility the stress can be a factor since it has a way of preoccupying thoughts. Our Self image of looking sexy may fade with age and the sexy is as sexy does rule applies. I think a person needs to see them self as attractive to project the confidence associated with attractiveness. Many ...... - 2009-07-04
» Anyone know of any good non-fiction western style books?
My father is really into Louis L'Amour and just about any other western, but this Christmas I want to try something a little different. I've only dabbled in this genre, so any research given would be greatly appreciated.A few cowboy novels my mother love were the Lonesome Dove series. They were made into a movie not to long ago and had a bit of success. The books are set as a long winded tale and were written by a man named Larry McMurtry. Stephen Ambrose has a few titles that might interest your father. Ambrose writes very readable history, I really enjoy his books and learn a lot from them too. The titles that came to mind for your question include Undaunted Courage, about the Lewis & Clark expedition, Crazy Horse & Custer, w...... - 2009-07-04

» If Joe Frazier vs Mike Tyson in their prime time who do you think will win ?
Tyson had a very brief prime. But in that prime, with the Tyson's combination of head movement and a power the equal of Foreman's, Frazier would land nothing and Tyson would. Physically, they were similar enough - both under 6', but Tyson had the weight advantage, and Frazier would have found it very hard to move forward and get Tyson to move back. Nor was Frazier as smart a boxer as Holyfield or Lewis. I think that Tyson is overrated by some nuthuggers, but I also think Frazier is. After all, he never fought a prime Ali (indeed, no-one did.)Tyson would be too fast for Joe, he would rip Joe with uppercuts and hooks and bob n weave out of the way of anything Joe could throw, and even on the odd occasion Joe did land, Ty...... - 2009-07-04

I was wondering what the proper way to focus is since there was a space in between them. Do I focus on one person and then move the camera back to center? Any suggestions would be great. I have a Nikon D200 that my dad handed down to me. Also, there are AF area mode rear controls on the back as well. Should I be changing them if I take pictures of a group? Thanks! I am a novice welder and build attachments to go on a piece of equipment for landscaping and use 1/4" steel. The 1/4" gets really hot just grinding down the welds. As far as plans, you seem to need one for flat safes if it is to go under a bed. I don't know of any and have done some googling. » Are there any downs to neutering a cat?
Neutering your cat is an excellent thing to do. However, you asked for possible down-sides, so I'll give you the list -- It's short! 1) Your cat may be more prone to obesity, especially if it's an older cat when it's neutered. 2) Your cat may have a bit less energy after it has been neutered. This is typically considered good, because it means it's less likely to run out in the street or something and get hurt! 3) There's a very, VERY slight chance of a problem with the operation, or infection afterward. Just be sure to keep him/her inside as long as the vet recommends. No more cute little kitties! Report Abuse For him there is. Report...... - 2009-07-04

so several months ago i purchased an Olympus E500. from my research, it sounded like a nice camera. Reviews said that Olympus was a very good brand, but that people often ignored it in favor of Canon or Nikon, and that the 2 lens package was great for pros and beginners alike to get their feet wet in the Olympus system. however more lately, i've been hearing bad things about Olympus. e.g. inferior picture quality, bad lens selection, etc.. Personally, i feel the camera performs well, and the noise hasn't bothered me that much. the two lenses cover what i'm using the camera for atm, but i fear that in the future i'm going to be stuck without sufficient tools to get the job done... Yes, absolutely. If he is diagnosed with it--instead of just a guess based on behavior--there is medication he can take to manage it. He could be a wonderful person on medication. My father was bipolar and undiagnosed for years; meds made a 180-degree difference. Its only worth it if you truly love him. » Will you pay 0.99$ for a song on iTunes even though you know you can get it for free ?
I will not, since i found some P2P software name Kazza (long ago) and now is Limewire. Will you pay for the song you like even though you can get it for free ???Yes I will pay because if you don't, then you're cheating the artist. Then the artist won't be getting the money they deserve and people will think they aren't good cause no one buys their stuff, but it's just cause people download illegally. Plus, the bought song, CD or iTunes, has better quality than something from Limewire.I will pay the 99 cents.Neither will I i'll just go into a store and steal the ablum HazaaYes....... - 2009-07-04
» Links won´t work in my dropdown menu
Hi. I´m new to Flash and have been trying to make a drop-down menu, but there is a problem with the links. The animation plays just the way i want it now, but the buttons doesn´t respond to clicks. Can someon look at my .fla-file and see if they can figure it out. And by the way, the graphics isn´t done yet, this is just a draft just to figure out how everything should work. :) I would be so grateful for help on this, i´ve been trying to figure it out for a couple of days now...I had some trouble working with your file. So I re-created it. I also added an easing class for you so the movement of your "sub-menu" is smooth instead of being "jerky". I kept the dimensions of you file, menu and sub-menu and all sub-menu graphics. You can ch...... - 2009-07-04

» Cordless Drills
I wanted to post my observations. I'm in market for new drills, and seriously considered the RIDGID because of warranty, and Ridgid used to have a good name but I'm in the wait and see mode. But Anyway, lets talk Drill. I went to test out the Ridgid drills today at Home Depot. I have read past posts but wanted to feel the tool. I like the power and the feel of the tool. They had a play with it display of Dewalt and Ridgid to drill through wood with cordlesses. That stoping clutch drives me nuts on the Ridgid. The dewalt also has a clutch that stops the drill but doesn't have the clicking sound. I can't imagine clicking metal to a stop would be a good thing for drills longevity. As for the warranty, I have seen enough of Home Depo...... - 2009-07-04
» from inside a corn maize...get it? :)
so i was up in maine with my son over the long weekend, and we visited a corn maze...took some shots from inside it at a wider angle, and this is one of the better shots. is it oversaturated?... i think the CP really helped the sky. it's not a great pic, but any C&C might be fun. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/aeon666/corn.jpgGreat perspective. I don't find it too oversaturated, it would be a shame to lose out on all that colour. IT's a shame the lighting is quite so harsh, and that one leaf at the front that's OOF annoys me, but apart from that I really like it.I agree with the first critique- the perspective makes this a cool shot. » I have a question i have been wanting to ask for months?
well i wish I was one . It seems fun :(I lost mine at 13, but I'm not bragging, it was a bad experience. There's plenty of 17 yr old virgins out there, and there's plenty of 30 yr old virgins out there. I just read a book about game and I was surprised to see how many older virgins there are. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean 17 is old. Just because everyone's probably constantly talkin about it around you, it doesn't mean they're not lying about it. Honestly, I've had sex with a lot of women, and I've made it a rule not to take any women seriously if they sleep with me on the first date. I find it endearing that you're not easy, but I hope you have your reasons for it, and it'...... - 2009-07-04

Just upgraded to Gold from RC2. Went to edit usergroup permissions, clicked update, said it had been updated.

» Best Oil For Integra B18A1?
I have a 1991 B18a1, and the previous owner ran 20W50 Castrol Syntec Synthetic Blend. Everybody told me it was way too heavy, So then I started running 10W30 Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic oil. It ran nice but it burns it up quicker and I was wondering if I should move up to like 20W40 or something around there. I recently heard people use heavier oils in B series motors that rev high.
» Only one filter may be attached?
The manual for my stock EF28 - 135 mm lens that came with my Canon 40D says I can only use one filter at a time. Well I regularly use a polarizer and a UV filter at the same time. Is that a problem? Why does it say I can only use one at a time?According to the following article, "Adding another element degrades image quality due to aberration and flare." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photographic_filterWell I regularly use a polarizer and a UV filter at the same time. Why would you do that? The UV will not help your images at all. » Height of Horse For Me?
ok so im like 5'1''. i know, im really reallyy short. been there all my life xD anyways, ive been searching some horses because (if i can EVER convince my parents) ive aways wanted a horse. someone recently posted a question that asked if their pony was to small for them, her pony was 14.3hh and she was taller than i am! anyways, i used to ride a pony who they said was 14.3hh but she was pretty small, even for me, so im thinking either they measured her wrong, or the other girl did. So what height horse would be ideal for me? Also, if this has any relation whatsoever to the question, im not super obese but im not really thin either (darn legs) so i dont know if that should affect the size of the horse either. How do you start or set up a national association? I want to set up an organization that is a support group for women on a national scale, but I want it to be an "official" association. Is this something I can do on my own or do I need a lawyer? What's an "official" association?

They were made into a movie not to long ago and had a bit of success. The books are set as a long winded tale and were written by a man named Larry McMurtry. Stephen Ambrose has a few titles that might interest your father. Ambrose writes very readable history, I really enjoy his books and learn a lot from them too.

But what do you all think, should i have steered clear of Ol...... - 2009-07-04
» Disable Backspace key
I need to be able to disable the Backspace key in MS Word for my students. They need to learn to key the text correctly more than they need to know how to correct mistakes. Taking the key off is not an option for the number of computers in my lab. There should be a way with VBA to remap the key. XXXX's would be just as good as disabling the key. Your help will be much appreciated. :cool:That is an exercise in futility. There are multiple ways to correct errors that don't require the use of the backspace key.I'm glad you said that, tusharm. I did try to assign a macro to the backspace key, but it isn't permitted. There are also plenty of typing programs out there that will track that kind of stuff that don't use Word. I...... - 2009-07-04
» Wrong white balance - any chance to rescue the pics?
Dang! I must have forgotten to push "set" when I THOUGHT I had changed the white balance to daylight (after the last pic taken had been a "study on a cat" indoors with my desklight the night before) --- 48 all blue photos are the result. On top of things, exposure went haywire on some of them (took pics like an absolute beginner, sheesh). Is there any rescue for this or will I have to convert them all in to black and white to save them at all? Here are two examples and my meagre attempts to do something about it, pushing all the buttons on PS I could find (and know by now): Off the camera ( ) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/LaFoto/Random%20pics/WhiteBalanceChallenge1.jpg And after I have tried to "rescue" this one... ht...... - 2009-07-04
» British Scientists Create New Bird Flu Map
British scientists create new bird flu map [Wednesday 01 November 2006] http://www.daelnet.co.uk/countrynews/country_news_01112006.cfm AS THE late autumn migrations of millions of birds to Europe begins to gather pace, bringing with it new fears about the spread of deadly avian 'flu, British scientists announced today (November 1) that they have created a new map of migration patterns which could act as an early warning system should the disease threaten Britain. We can now provide much better information to Defra to help them target their surveillance Dr Phil Atkinson - BTO Migrating birds from South East Asia and the southern steppes were last year accused to bringing the deadly strain of H5N1 strain which has killed humans in Asia to...... - 2009-07-04
» Is it worth trying to make a furture with a bipolar person?
He is always up and down..it's worth it if you love him enough. if you really care for him and he treats you good then i would do it. you will learn to cope with his illness and love him through sickness and in health. also, there are many meds he can take to help him with his disorder. My friend is bipolar, and when hes not on his meds he's not the greatest person to be around sometimes. I know that if I was in his situation tho...... - 2009-07-04
» Is this for real?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43454&item=3848473963&rd=1Um...I think you are paying for a CD, not a camera. It is REALLY REALLY misleading though.does it really increse your digi rebel to a 10d? sorry if i was confusingthere is a way you can hack your rebel to get the features of the 10D...I personally wouldn't do it. You could ruin your camera, and it voids all warranties. It's a simple firmware update. Someone figured out a while back that the 300D is actually the 10D with features disabled via software. At least that is how it is for the guts. The 10D is actually a better built body little more heavy duty if you will. Can't change that with firmware. ;)I have read that lots of people have used the firmware hack...... - 2009-07-04
» New to the game
I've been contemplating photography for a while now and decided to break down and get into it. I just bought a Canon Rebel T2 with 2 lenses. One is a 28-80 and the other is a 70-300. Debated between the T2 and an Elan 7N, but decided to go with the cheaper body until I'm sure that I'm gonna stick with it. Got some filters too....nothing special. I've been doin lots and lots of reading trying to get my things together, but damn does it get confusing. Guess my best bet is to start shooting whenever the camera shows up. I'm really interested in doing landscape/wooded/stream pictures, sunset/dusk pics and old barns/farm architectures. Would love to do the barns in B&W. Where should my head be when I'm thinking about doing any of these ...... - 2009-07-04
» I found some past "Forever Stamps"...what is their value?
How do those "Forever Stamps" from the post office work? We have some from a few years ago, but there is no value showing on them. Is that the idea, that they just keep going up in value as the USPS raises its rates? The are and always will be a first class stamp, currently worth 42 cents.Forever stamps are worth whatever the current postage rate is.good forever- no matter the current postage rateThe forever stamps can be used just like it's named....forever. No matter what the price change may be, and I'm sure in 2009 the rate will go up another 1 cent, you can still use them.Their value is whatever the current price of a postage stamp is. ...... - 2009-07-04

I really like photos where you see things differently than you do walking around. I don't t...... - 2009-07-04
